IMPACT & STYLE

Join us to our GIRLCOTT to plastics . This plasticfree t-shirt has a medium weight soft fabric not visible throught. It is narrow fit and elbow length sleeves, perfect to wear inside your high waist pants.

  • 160 gr undyed GOTS organic cotton fabric.
  • Water footprint: 53 liters.Conventional cotton would be 855 liters per 135gr (based on same origin) [1]
  • Embroidery in cotton thread / lyocell sewing thread.

SIZING & CARE

Garment Measurements: Size 36 Length : 57 cm once washed, it shrinks a little bit (3%) , conventional cotton apparel is generally treated with chemicals to reduce the shrinkage effects of heat.

Model wears 36 and is 174 cm height|82 bust|63 waist|90 hips

Care: Wash in cool to warm water 30°C with mild laundry detergent (nontoxic, biodegradable types preferred), do not bleach, do not tumble dry, No dry cleaning, Ironing medium. Let it dry naturally in line. Sun is free.

FABRIC

Jersey: Raw_Spin_Prod: Turkey_Shipped by land.

Two fabrics make up our t-shirt; the main fabric is a mid-weight 100% GOTS certified organic cotton jersey. The second is a ribbed fabric used for the neck collar. As this is an undyed natural material some small impurities could be seen.
[1]( water irrigation and fabric production, blue+gray water footprint) Our organic cotton is  267liters/kg  based in origin, conventional cotton is from studies is 7336 liters/kg blue water footprint per cotton lint kg (15% more than average) as is mostly irrigated region.

SEWING THREAD

Our thread is 100% lyocell which is fully biodegradable and home compost certified by TUV Austria. The wood pulp purchased more than half comes from South Africa from FSC plantations certified. Eucalyptus is the predominant type of wood, this wood is purchased from small-scale businesses and these partners prove their sustainability commitment to Lenzing.

EMBROIDERY

Our dyed embroidery thread is premium mercerized jumel 100% cotton from deadstock. Although it’s a lot better for the environment than the industry standard virgin polyester.

LABEL

Label 100% biodegradable cotton printed with water-based ink. Some fading in the print could occur after washing. We have reduced the label to one instead of the three as in the industry standard. Although it’s a lot better for the environment than the industry standard virgin polyester or transfer with PVC (plastisol), we are working to find more sustainable alternatives.

  • Lyocell thread is stronger than other natural such as cotton and natural thread it also allows you could dye in a dark color.

END OF USE

  • Thread and main fabrics are cellulose-based so you can dye, prolonging life through reuse. 
  • No dyestuff with heavy metals so it facilitates biodegradability.
  • When it  is worn out, we can facilitate the return of clothes informing you about your local thrift shops.
