IMPACT & STYLE

The plastic-free Olympe jeans has a high waist sailor style wide leg jean and stitched raw hemline. The ankle-length cut creates an elongated silhouette. Seasonless piece thanks to heavy fabric. This pants have a tight fit. We recommend going up a size if you are between sizes.

SIZING & CARE

Fit /Styling Notes: Please check your measurements before ordering. This pants have a tight fit. We recommend going up a size if you are between sizes.A raw hemline to fray with your first wash.

Garment Measurements:Size 36: 67 cm at inseam, 95 cm side length once washed, length shrinkages a little bit (2%) in the first wash, conventional cotton apparel is generally treated with chemicals to reduce the shrinkage effects of heat.Model wears 36 and is 174 cm height|82 bust|63 waist|90 hips

Care:  Wash in cool to warm water max 30°C with mild detergent , do not bleach, and do not tumble dry, ironing medium, not dry cleaning. Let it dry naturally in line. Sun is free.

FABRIC

Raw_ Spin _Prod: Aegean Turkey/Shipped by land.

We use 12oz raw  twill 100% Gots certified organic cotton. The ecru color  cotton is a botanically grown color  so no dyes have been used, so no dyes has been used minimizing the water footprint. It is not applied to any wet processes, just sanforized. Turkey is one of the countries with the least transgenic seed contamination.

[1](blue+gray water footprint) Organic cotton is  267liters/kg  based in origin, conventional cotton is from studies is 7336 liters/kg blue water footprint per cotton lint kg (15% more than average) as is mostly irrigated region.

SEWING THREAD

Our thread is 100% lyocell which is fully biodegradable and home compost certified by TUV Austria. The wood pulp purchased more than half comes from South Africa from FSC plantations certified. Eucalyptus is the predominant type of wood, this wood is purchased from small-scale businesses and these partners prove their sustainability commitment to Lenzing.

BUTTON

Raw _Production:  Ecuador Spain

Our  undyed button is from Corozo nuts. They are made from a nut that is harvested once it naturally falls to the ground. Corozo comes from the Tagua tree that only grows in the lowland rainforests of South America. We are working with a local factory in Spain to produce a limited run of each of these buttons.

EMBROIDERY

Our dyed embroidery thread is premium mercerized jumel 100% cotton from deadstock . Although it’s a lot better for the environment than the industry standard virgin polyester, it’s just a temporary solution. We hope to substitute in future for lyocell thread.

Label 100% biodegradable cotton printed with water-based ink. Some fading in the print could occur after washing. We have reduced the label to one instead of the three as in the industry standard. Although it’s a lot better for the environment than the industry standard virgin polyester or transfer with PVC (plastisol), we are working to find more sustainable alternatives.

DESIGN FOR RECYCLING

  • Fabric and threads are natural , so it is to recycle together and become other natural fabrics.
  • Reusable corozo button.
  • Embroidery is the same color as ground fabric so it is not necessary to cut it before recycle.

DESIGN FOR ZERO IMPACT

Fabric is GOTS  fabric, so no chemicals have been used to produce cotton or the fabric.

DESIGN FOR REDUCE IMPACT

  • All components are manufactured in Europe, so the standards for water waste treatment are higher than conventional clothing. 
  • Buttons and fabric are raw undyed materials, no chemicals used for the dyeing and finishing  process reducing water waste and CO2 footprint .
  • Organic cotton: 46% less CO2 footprint than conventional cotton. (This is an average; we are waiting for our supplier to provide our impact). 
  • Water based print labeling. 
  • Thread certified OEKO-TEX® standard 100. 
  • Reduce labels to one on the inside. 

DESIGN FOR LONGEVITY

  • Lyocell thread is stronger than other natural such as cotton.

END OF USE

  • When product is worn out, we can facilitate the return of clothes informing you about your local thrift shops.
  • Thread and main fabrics are cellulose-based so you can dye, prolonging life through reuse.
  • No dyestuff with heavy metals so it facilitates biodegradability.
  • All garment is fully biodegradable.
